The Network Market is about to explode

During the 90’s MLM exploded primarily from the newness of the Internet and the naivety of those just entering the Internet to believe the ever-rising hype of “Get Rich Quick” and “Do Nothing But Sign Up” hype, primarily promoted by spam. Many new MLMs sprang up to promote the hype using binary and forced matrix schemes. IE: Skybiz, Going Platinum, PRSI, Big Smart, etc.

During these times Baby Boomers were well employed with their careers, and retirement was still far off in the future. Today the Internet has grown up (A major trend) with many Netizen’s well experienced and not falling for this hype anymore.

Today the Baby Boomers are turning gray with retirement at their doorstep. Many are looking for an alternative business on the Internet.

Another trend not overlooked here pushing this is corporate downsizing.

Here’s why and how it will happen

This divergence is already beginning to occur. As Internet access and e-commerce pick up speed (and they’re already outstripping all predictions), two important things will happen:

Consumers are using the Internet for more and more of their shopping needs, for more of their recreational and social activities (Facebook and MySpace come to mind), and for more of their work related activity (telecommuting).

The existing home theatre, home gym, home office, home entertainment center, etc will be augmented by home medical centers (connected directly to doctors and other health specialists), home learning centers (instead of schools) and other in-home services so that consumers will have fewer reasons to leave the comfort and amenities of their homes.

Supermarkets and other conventional stores will increasingly convert to automated warehouses that pick, pack and deliver, without the expensive real estate (including car parks) required now - or the staff.

Shopping, as we now know it is changing dramatically. Fewer businesses will be able to afford the luxury of expensive premises, car parks, etc, and competition from home-based or mobile in-home services (run by displaced former-employees) will add to their costs.

Consumers will become increasingly isolated. Many will crave human contact. With the aging of the world population, this need will grow (Vereconference communities are growing as I write this).

Those MLM companies moving in the direction of servicing customers on line will pursue this direction more vigorously than ever. To fund their growth, many (if not all) will be forced to seek listing on stock exchanges and go public. For their distributor networks, this may well be the beginning of the end. Before too much longer, most of these companies will cease to be MLM companies. However…

Those companies who maintain a retail focus in their distributor networks, and who opt for using the Internet primarily to train and support their distributor networks (Veretekk has lead the way with this trend), will go from strength to sustainable strength. Many of the newer generation of network marketers - most of whom are displaced former middle and senior managers and professionals - will take network marketing back to its origins as a high-leverage retail sales and distribution system. There will be a return to the basics as MLM rediscovers its roots in new, more powerful ways.

The Journey

In working online the past years, I take notes in the way that people seem to approach Internet marketing. It is clear to me that most people tend to regard this medium as a quick way to make money. It is almost like they expect to get paid right away for their efforts. I know that after being in different businesses myself, this should not be the way to approach business at all. After all, building a business online should be looked at no differently than that of pursuing an offline career. You certainly would not expect to develop instant income when building a successful construction business, would you? There would be many startup costs, building expenses, equipment purchases, insurance, taxes and a myriad of other expenses to consider.

Online business should be built with the goal in mind of not having expensive office space, buildings, equipment costs, insurance, workman’s compensation and all the other expenses that eat away at the profitability of that business. Internet marketing is nothing more than a process. Daily, you set about the path of writing keyword specific information to go out live on Google, Yahoo, MSN, WindowsLive and the other major search engines. You would not just sit idly by and waste your time doing nothing, for if you do, your competition will sure over take you quickly.

I have seen people spend thousands of dollars to join an online business. They do absolutely nothing to make a statement about that business. They gripe, moan, complain, condemn and criticize that they are not making any money, but they do absolutely nothing to enhance the business. It is incredible for me to witness this, as I know in my seo business, I am constantly placing information to different places on the net. Some of it is very effective, some of it is not. I never, and I repeat, never give up when pursuing my dreams and goals of building success online. You must dedicate yourself to spend the rest of your life in pursuance of your dreams, to make those dreams happen. If you lack this type of commitment to build a business online, then you are best to stay with the stable minimum wage day job. Remember always that the journey is the ticket!

When it comes to success online, these are time tested steps that can be used in each new marketing campaign or business plan.

1. Create an Image or Brand for your Business- This is your own business it’s all about you not what ever products or services your marketing. Build YOUR Brand not others.

2. Define your target market for your customers, business partners, marketing campaigns so you attract exactly who you want in your business. For you SEO people keywords fall into this catagory. Spend some time on this step or you could waist lots of valuable time.

3. Gather your resources- This is your time, money and sphere of influnce. Be honest with yourself if you don’t have any time or money you need to have a sphere of influence or you are better off working a JOB.

4. Write a plan of action- This is an outline to accomplish the first 3 steps, it doesn’t need to be fancy just write it down!

5. Gather the Tools needed to carry out the plan- This is your marketing and recruiting tools, ads and scripts, training programs, and a mentor or success coach.

6. Work the plan- Yes it does take work to be successful on the internet.. content is king… you must write and provide information if you want to be noticed. You must talk to people and develop relationships. The internet is a wonderful place to do business but it won’t happen for you if you don’t communicate with both written and oral communication.

Trouble Shooting
Huge Lead database are causing trouble!

The solution is on the way. We project that by the end of next week, the new improved Bully Pulpit will be ready to launch. The issue has been counting all the lead-capture categories in the Bully Pulpit before displaying it.

Below you will see the proposed changes we are making. Primarily we are removing the lead-capture count in the main Bully Pulpit display… but giving you the power to see the lead count by selecting the categories you want to view the data with the VIEW button. Now this display will also give you your lead counts.

I also recommend that those of you serious about building lead databases and have issues displaying them get bigger and faster PCs. Prices for PCs today have never been lower. For instance, today at Office Depot, as I was buying filing stuff for this years taxes (That is another article), I checked out prices for 21 inch landscape displays. It was not that long ago they sold for over $1000. Today they go for less than $130 each.

I will explain in greater detail the new Bully Pulpit this Sunday.
